I have been teaching childbirth classes and attending births for 12 years. I was originally trained and certified by the American Academy of Husband Coached Childbirth (The Bradley Method) in 2001 following the birth of my first child. I had briefly returned to employment out of the home and very shortly realized that my passion for moms, babies and the birth process needed a constructive outlet. I am so grateful to have been able to stay home with my boys AND feed my soul while sharing in the lives of hundreds of new parents.
Today, we have 4 children. Two of which were born in the hospital and two of which were born at home. Austin, the oldest, is my step-son and was born in a very typical hospital birth. That experience led us to look for something different for the next child. Chase, was also born in the hospital but completely intervention free. That and our training gave us the confidence to have Reid and Tate at home. The experiences with each of our boys has given us a unique perspective which has allowed us to relate well to the many different couples who come through our door.
I graduated in 2016 with a Masters of Midwifery from Bastyr University and am now credentialed as a Licensed Midwife in both Oregon and Washington as well as a Certified Professional Midwife through NARM. I hope to serve growing families through my home birth practice while planning the grand opening of my own freestanding birth center in Vancouver, WA!
